Caseville

I flew back from Europe to St. Louis last week, which was quite the journey. I missed my trans-atlantic connection in Frankfurt due to flight delays, got booked on 3 different flights in the space of less than an hour and somehow made it to St. Louis in okay time, even with luggage,...... almost another world wonder.....

Only here long enough to run some errands and get ready for the next trip: Caseville, Michigan for a 5 day girls vacation with Deb, Cathy and Carol. What a little treasure: Saginaw bay at lake Huron, a cottage in the woods but less than a 2 minute walk from the beach.... We met the locals (no comment ;-) ), walked in the woods and spent time on the beach, had breakfast and dinner out, visited the Farmers market and the cute little stores, had our own private firework display, made really great roasted vegies (with some unfortunate effects for Cathy) and smores and played lots of games, .... My personal favorite was 'bananagrams', a varient of scrabble. Unfortunately I was a rotten banana almost every game for making words not really existing in the American/English language. All taken in good humor, probably partially due to significant amounts of alcohol consumed.......

I also had another birthday celebration (I really am officially 40 now!!!!) with wonderful wishes and gifts and an appropriate birthday-suit-swim in the lake..... VERY COLD..... It just had to be done....

By the way, these are not my pictures. They are great and courtesy of Cathy, our team photographer!!
